Our story

Rampen started with a simple idea: We wanted to show people the best of Bodø and Northern Norway – our way.

We're locals. We know the places we explore, with the mountains, the sea and Arctic nature right outside our door. This is where we love to spend our own time, and these are the experiences we want to share with our guests.

From the Rampen Adventure Hub in the heart of Bodø, we take small groups on adventures all year round – at sea, in the mountains and out into the Arctic winter landscape. RIB safaris, Via Ferrata, electric snowmobiles, Northern Lights tours and snowshoeing are very different experiences, but they all share the same philosophy: high quality, great people and time for every guest.

Our guides bring solid experience from backgrounds including rescue services, fire and ambulance services, climbing and outdoor life. Safety and professionalism are at the heart of everything we do.

We believe the best experiences happen in small groups, with local guides who genuinely care about both the people they meet and the places they share.

Our goal is simple: You should go home with an experience you'll remember.

Esten is Rampen's Lead Adventure Guide and brings extensive experience as a RIB skipper and as a guide on paddle craft. He is not only an expert on the water but also a true outdoorsman - an avid hiker in the mountains around Bodø and a certified DNT guide. With his captivating storytelling, you always learn something new on a trip with Esten.

Our guides

Our guides bring backgrounds from rescue services, fire and ambulance, climbing instruction and outdoor education. Together they know Bodø, Saltstraumen, Bratten and the mountains of Salten the way only people who've grown up here can.

    Krisztian Karlsen

    Krisztian Karlsen is an experienced guide with a background as a paramedic and a deep passion for the outdoors. He ensures safe and memorable experiences, with strong knowledge of the mountains and years of guiding behind him.

    Emil Dybfest Johannesen

    Emil Johannesen studies nursing and is an experienced climber and skier. With his experience and calm presence, he gives every visitor to Rampen a memorable trip.

    Elisabeth Nilsen is an outdoor and climbing enthusiast who works at an outdoor kindergarten. She is passionate about great outdoor experiences in all weather, for people of all ages.

    Tom-Roger Olsen works daily at Salten Brann (fire & rescue) and is also a climbing instructor. With safety and a genuine love for climbing, he gives guests a fantastic nature and climbing experience on our via ferrata.

    Elise Juul Johnsen is an active climber who works at an outdoor kindergarten. With long experience in creating great outdoor experiences and her good humour, she gives you a memorable trip with Rampen.

    Einar is an avid climber and cyclist who loves being outdoors in any weather. Experienced with groups large and small, he gives a sense of safety to everyone who visits Rampen.

    Emil-André works as a paramedic and studies nursing. He also has long experience from volunteer rescue services and is a versatile outdoor enthusiast who will give you a fantastic trip with Rampen.
